My art journal process began with my love of  journals, this inspired me to create unique and personal art journals. The starting point for each journal  is choosing a print from my collection of monoprints or hand dyed fabrics. This sets the tone for the entire piece and serves as the foundation of journal. 
Once I have selected the monoprint or  a hand-dyed fabric, I cover the wooden covers of the journal with it. After securing the base layer, I apply encaustic medium to the covers, which adds texture and depth. Following this, I use pastels and oil sticks, allowing my intuition to guide the process as I develop the colors, textures, and composition. I do not plan these elements rigidly, instead letting the materials and my feelings dictate the design as it evolves.

Throughout the process, I aim to convey a sense of individuality. Each journal is one of a kind, reflecting my response to color and texture. This uniqueness is essential to me, as it mirrors my personal connection to each piece I create. Each journal is hand-stitched using the traditional Coptic stitch, embodying a harmony of craftsmanship and color.

Although I work intuitively, my approach to layers and materials is consistent: starting with monoprint or fabric, then encaustic medium, followed by soft pastels and oil sticks. This sequence provides a balance between control and spontaneity, allowing the piece to develop organically.

My process is deeply rooted in a tactile experience with materials, and the physical act of layering and blending various elements is central to how I express myself. Every journal is an exploration of texture and color, and through this, I communicate emotions and stories without relying on written words or narratives.
